The scholarship is subject to the following criteria:

• The scholarship will be made payable to both the recipient and the institution they are currently attending.
• The recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA and be enrolled as a full-time student as defined by their academic institution. If the recipient is employed full-time, the trustees may consider lowering the GPA requirement from 3.0 to 2.5, provided full-time employment and student status are verified.

One of the great contributions of the Greek American Restaurant Association is helping our youth.  For over 25 years, GARA has awarded up to four college scholarships per year. The scholarships are given to high school seniors in the amount of $2,000 per year for up to four years.  The scholarships are awarded without restriction as to academic discipline or course of study to qualifying full-time students who are in, or who have completed their senior year of high school.  To be eligible, an applicant must be of Greek descent and cannot be related to a member of the Selection Committee.  The weighted criteria are based on scholastic attainment, financial need, and essay.
